APIL boss says motor rises welcomed to combat negligence

Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) chief executive, Denise Kitchener has defended 20% in motor insurance premiums because of personal injury claims costs.

In a letter to the Belfast Telegraph she wrote: “If someone is injured and suffering because of someone else's negligence, that person is absolutely within his rights to claim fair redress - regardless of the severity of the injury.

“The fact that more people are becoming aware of their rights should be welcomed and it should also be noted that a claim for compensation cannot succeed unless negligence is proven.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
