Shadow City minister is latest to condemn Lloyd’s amid ‘horrific’ reports of rampant sexism, harassment and bullying

Shadow City Minister John Reynolds is the latest politician to attack Lloyd’s of London, slamming it for being ‘institutionally sexist’.

Reynolds ordered Lloyd’s to clean itself up, criticising it for being a backwards market, adding: ”The events described are redolent of behaviour from decades past that has no place in a working environment.”

Reynolds joins former cabinet minister Nicky Morgan, who branded the stories of sexism as ‘horrific’.

Lloyd’s is reeling after a Bloomberg investigation revealed rampant sexism, harrassment and bullying.

The institution also crashed to a £1bn loss yesterday and a review is being carried out by Deloitte with nothing left off the table, including scrapping the underwriting room.

Boss John Neal has unveiled a string of measures to kick out sexual harrassment.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
