Nicholas Walsh joins broker as a non-executive director

Broking group Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) has appointed Nicholas Walsh as a non-executive director.

Until the end of September, Walsh worked at insurer AIG, where he was most recently vice-chairman of AIG Property & Casualty and chairman of  AIG Europe and AIG Asia Pacific Insurance.

Walsh’s career at AIG spanned more than 42 years. He held several senior roles at the insurer, including chief executive of American International Underwriters.

JLT chairman Geoffrey Howe said: “Nic has significant insurance expertise following a long and distinguished career at AIG.

“Having spent the last 12 years based in New York, Nic also has specialist knowledge of the US insurance market, which will prove invaluable to JLT as we build our US operations, including the expansion of our specialty capabilities and the development of our reinsurance broking business JLT Re.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
