Jardine Lloyd Thompson has poached a team of 16 property brokers from rival Arthur J Gallagher (UK).
The team is led by Kevin Hubbard, who will join JLT Risk Solutions on 10 November as a partner to head up its property business unit.
Hubbard ran the global property unit at Arthur J Gallagher (UK) and chairman and chief executive of JLT Risk Solutions Dominic Collins said that it would lever Hubbard's expertise in international property markets to complement JLT's existing team.
Arthur J Gallagher (UK) chief executive Brian King was not available for comment when Insurance Times went to press but a company insider said the defections would have "little impact" on the business.
