Reshuffle at Biba as Aon boss steps up

Aon Risk Solutions chief executive Julie Page has been appointed deputy chair of Biba, replacing Tim Ryan from Ryan Insurance who has filled the role since 2015.

She has stepped down from her role as chair of Biba’s International & Wholesale Brokers’ Advisory Board. Ian Cooper, partner at Lockton, will take on the chair position.

Lockton said: “Brokers need a strong voice.  Biba’s structure and Biba’s advisory boards ensure that they have that.  I am pleased to join the board and will take forward the role of representing international and wholesale members with enthusiasm and commitment.”

Page commented: “It is a privilege to become Biba’s deputy chair and I look forward to working with the rest of the board and the Biba team to take forward the important and challenging issues that brokers face.”

Ryan will continue serving as a Biba board member.

Biba Chairman, Lord Hunt of Wirral, said: “These are two excellent appointments. Both Julie and Ian have the experience and skills to represent brokers at the highest levels and assist Biba as it continues to move forward.  Julie has been an excellent advisory board chair and I am pleased that she has accepted the reins from Tim who has been an outstanding deputy chair.”

In his new role, Cooper will represent Biba members from Lloyd’s and the London market ensuring that matters affecting them are properly represented.
