Property broker pledges to tackle new claims within 48 hours

Wholesale property broker Keelan Westall, now part of Arthur J Gallagher, has launched a claims charter designed to promote the quality of the claims service it offers to brokers.

It spells out several of the service’s features, including a requirement that all members of the Keelan Westall claims team hold Foundation Insurance Test certificates and a company pledge to deal with all invoices and new claims within 48 hours.

The team holds settlement authority on behalf of major insurers, including Aviva and Zurich Insurance Group, which Keelan Westall says enables claims to be solved efficiently.

The charter also states that in 2012 Keelan Westall paid £120,000 for claims arising from malicious damage caused by tenants – a figure that the company claims may not have been achievable by going direct to insurers.

Keelan Westall managing director Wayne Tonge said: “Our service is based on building strong and professional relationships with our brokers, adjusters and insurers. This begins with providing each broker with a dedicated handler, helping to ensure continuity, good communication and loyalty.”

Keelan Westall was one of the businesses that Arthur J Gallagher bought from broking group Barbon in May.
