Broker reorganises business development function

Property insurance broker Keelan Westall says new business income has risen 45% over the past year.

The company added that the number of quotations had reached “record levels” in the last two months.

Keelan Westall’s head of business Wayne Tonge attributed the growth to the launch of new products, provision of policy wordings that are unavailable directly from insurers, and improved service standards at the broker.

“In what is still a tough economic climate and with other insurance businesses struggling, we are delighted with these figures, which reflect the on-going commitment, drive and enthusiasm of our employees across all levels of the organisation,” Tonge said in a statement.

He added: : “We have made the structural changes required for future growth and focused on embedding a real sales culture throughout the business – underlined by our much publicised ‘Guarantee to Beat’ price initiative. As a result, we are very confident about our prospects for 2012 and beyond.”

As part of its sales drive, Keelan Westall has also reorganised its business development function into five teams. Each comprises a business development manager, development executive and development team handler.
