Lloyd's group Kiln has appointed Edward Creasy, formerly of The St Paul, as director of underwriting at its Lloyd's managing agency, RJ Kiln & Co.

Andrew Carrier will become active underwriter of syndicate 557 and of the reinsurance division of syndicate 510. Robin Hargreaves becomes active underwriter of the property division of syndicate 510.

Bill Rendall moves from his current position as active underwriter of the non-marine division of syndicate 510 to create a new risk solutions division within the syndicate.

"[Bill Rendall's] new division is the first specialist unit established specifically for this class in the Lloyd's market, and we anticipate that the progressive removal of the traditional boundaries between the insurance and capital markets will create exciting opportunities for us in the future," said Kiln Chairman David Gilchrist.

Mike Lewis will head a syndicate support services unit which has been created to co-ordinate these activities.
