Operation to focus on marine insurance
Kiln has announced the launch of its new Frankfurt office in Germany.
The business will be managed by Marcus Zapfe, previously regional marine underwriting manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Ace.
The business focus of the new operation will be on marine insurance, and the local team will have full underwriting and claims authority for its principal lines of business, providing on-the-ground service directly to its producing brokers.
Olivier Terlinden, regional managing director for Europe at Kiln, said: "The new office in Frankfurt will service the whole territory with underwriting decisions also taken in Germany."
Roger Bickmore, group business development director at Kiln, said: "By having our own people on the ground we plan to strengthen our network of relationships in Germany and be better positioned to respond to the opportunities that await us."
