New chief operating officer at Lloyd’s insurer

Kiln has appointed Denise Garland as its new chief operating officer.

Garland will be responsible for leading the company’s global operations in line with its progressive international strategy.

Prior to joining Kiln, Garland held a number of senior finance and operational posts at Ernst & Young, Willis and Man Group.

Garland said: “I am thrilled to be joining Kiln during this exceptionally busy and dynamic time as it strives to achieve some of the ambitious goals it has set. The company has a strong track record of leading innovation and I am pleased to be joining its leadership team.”

Kiln chief executive Charles Franks said: “Our industry is undergoing an enormous amount of change and it has never been more important to ensure operational strategy is solid and effective.  Market modernisation, regulation and the rise of big data, coupled with challenging economic conditions, are changing the way companies need to operate in order to create opportunities for themselves and we are well placed to take advantage of them.

“In this environment, Denise brings a wealth of experience, energy and expertise to Kiln and will perform a vital role in ensuring that our operations are best in class. I am delighted to welcome her to the team.”
