Lloyd’s insurer promotes Paul MacMillan

Lloyd’s (re)insurer Kiln has appointed Paul MacMillan as active underwriter of its aviation division.

He replaces Paul Letherbarrow, who recently left the company.

MacMillan, who has 30 years’ experience in aviation insurance joined Kiln as a deputy underwriter in 2007.

“I am privileged to work with a fantastically skilled team that has established a very strong market-leading presence over a number of years,” MacMillan said in a statement. “I look forward to the challenge of growing the business line further in accordance with the broader Kiln strategy.”

Richard Lewis, director of underwriting at Kiln, added: “I am delighted that Paul is taking over the leadership of this important division. His in-depth knowledge of the sector and specialist expertise will be of great benefit to Kiln as we pursue our strategy for growth.”
