Len Messenger joins Lancashire from Zurich Global Energy

Lancashire Holdings has appointed Len Messenger as chairman of energy for the company’s UK operating subsidiary, Lancashire UK.

Messenger will be working closely with Giles Hussey, chief executive of Lancashire Marketing Services (Middle East), to further develop and implement Lancashire’s Asian strategy.

Messenger will be joining Lancashire UK from Zurich Global Energy where he has worked for 17 years, holding various positions during that time. Most recently, he held the role of manager – exploration & production for the London market with special responsibility for the Asia Pacific and Middle East growth strategy for the Zurich group.

Alex Maloney, group chief underwriting officer, said: “We are delighted that Len will be joining Lancashire UK as chairman of energy. Len’s industry knowledge and considerable underwriting experience will enhance Lancashire’s abilities in this vital area. Len will concentrate on the implementation of our Asian strategy working closely with Giles Hussey.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
