Andy Webb left the company at year end

Andy Webb, operations director of Legal & General’s general insurance business, has left the company, Insurance Times has learned.

Webb departed L&G at the end of last year to pursue other interests. His resignation closely follows that of L&G’s GI underwriting head Malcolm Cooper, which Insurance Times revealed in November. However, it is understood that the two departures are unconnected. “Andy simply felt it was time to move on,” an L&G spokesman said.

It is not yet clear which company Webb has joined.

“We wish Andy all the best. He did a great job for us here,” the spokesman said, adding that the company hoped to make an announcement about Webb’s replacement in due course.

A replacement for Cooper has also still yet to be announced.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
