The British Motorcyclists' Federation (BMF) has selected Manchester-based law firm Cottrill Stone Lawless to fight members' personal injury cases.

Cottrill joins the BMF's 14-strong panel of “biker-friendly” law practices, which handle motorcycle personal injury claims.

Partner Philip Shuker, an expert on motorcycle claims and member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (Apil), will be running the service at Cottrill.

In the past six months, he has recovered more than £1m in compensation for motorcyclists, including two individuals awarded more than £150,000 after other lawyers had told them their cases were unlikely to succeed.

Members of the BMF also have free access to its Biker Legal Line and can obtain interim funding for repairs and discounts on legal assistance.
