New hires at Liberty

Liberty Mutual Insurance is set to open an office in Leeds to expand its northern presence in commercial lines.

John Dakin has been appointed to establish the new office.

The insurer has also made a string of other commercial lines appointments across the country.

In Bristol, Liberty has appointed Matthew Bliss as senior commercial combined underwriter, Alison Davies as business development assistant and Duncan Green as broker account manager.

Liberty has appointed Andy Howard as senior commercial combined underwriter and Michael Henderson as broker account manager in Manchester.

Roger Bacon has been appointed to bolster the insurer’s surveying and risk abilities across all regional offices. 

Liberty Mutual chief executive Sean Rocks said: “The opening of the Leeds office together with the new appointments we have made will further drive the momentum we have created, underlining our intention to be a ‘go to’ market for brokers placing mid-sized commercial lines business.” 

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
