Sims resigns over 'difference of opinion'

Lorega chief executive John Sims has resigned with immediate effect.

Sims joined the loss recovery insurance specialist in September 2007.

Sims said: “I have enjoyed my time with Lorega very much. It has been fun to see the brand become so well known and synonymous for high quality service. I have also relished taking the product into the mid and high net worth market. In these difficult economic times we have enjoyed good growth in the business in the last few years.

“My reasons for leaving are entirely personal but revolve around a difference of opinion about the future direction of the company. I am proud to leave the business in good shape.”

Malcolm Harvey, chairman of Lorega said: “We are sorry to see John go and thank him for helping us take the company to a new level of market awareness.”

John’s operational responsibilities will be assumed by Neill Johnstone, who has also been appointed as group managing director, and other members of the Lorega senior management team.
