Mark Lovatt rode to victory in the Ecclesiastical Insurance Tour of the Cotswolds this week and snatched the title of King of the Mountains at the same time.

Posing for the cameras with his fiancée, Karen McBarrons, he celebrated winning the 119-mile race in which he endured 7,000ft of climbing.

There were 113 riders taking part in the event. Lovatt, riding for the Provision/Planet X team, was followed to the finishing post by Matt Stephens (Lynda McCartney Team) who finished second, and David McCann (the Irish national champion), who came in third.
