LV= Broker has promoted head of broker pricing Tim Rourke to head of personal lines underwriting, effective from 1 November.

He will replace Elspeth Hackett, who is leaving for a new role in the industry.

LV= Broker handles LV=’s intermediated business. In his new role Rourke will be responsible for the insurer’s standard motor and home lines.

Rourke joined LV= 18 months ago from Ageas. He has 10 years’ industry experience, and started his career at LV= as a trainee actuary.

LV Broker personal lines director Michael Lawrence said: “Tim is an excellent talent and we look forward to him becoming our new head of personal lines underwriting.

“In his 18 months with LV= Broker, Tim, as head of broker pricing, has become a real asset to the personal lines exec team, bringing his extensive knowledge and experience to the role.”

He added: “This great news is tinged with some sadness as it’s due to the departure of Elspeth Hackett that this role has become available.

“During her eight years at LV=, Elspeth has played a key role in the development of both ABC and LV= Broker’s personal lines underwriting – she will be sorely missed by her LV= colleagues.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Elspeth for all her hard work and commitment to LV= during this time and wish her every success in her new role.”

Rourke said: “My first 18 months at LV= Broker has flown by and I’m looking forward to the move from pricing to head of personal lines underwriting. It may be a new role, but my priorities remain the same: ensuring we’re the first port of call for brokers with great products that deliver what their customers need.”
