Cannock joins as marine underwriter
Markel International has appointed Matthew Cannock as marine underwriter in its Singapore office.
Cannock, who will be reporting to Markel’s Asia-Pacific head Peter Phillips, will focus on marine, hull, cargo and liability business, developing Markel’s regional marine capability from its Singapore hub.
He has worked in the Lloyd’s market in Singapore since 2005. Prior to that he was the regional marine underwriting manager for RSA in Singapore.
Cannock also has broking experience in the marine sector.
Phillips said: “Matthew’s appointment underlines our determination to develop a strong marine line out of Singapore.
“Markel is already well known as a leading marine insurer, and Matthew’s experience and knowledge will be invaluable in building our accounts in the Asia Pacific region.”
