Alan Kirshner to receive medical treatment
Markel Corporation's chairman and chief executive Alan Kirshner could be absent from the insurer's offices for most of December and January while receiving medical treatments, it said in a statement.
Kirshner said: "I am confident that the business will be in good hands with the oversight of the other members of the office of the chairman, Steve Markel and Tony Markel, and the leadership of our Presidents Mike Crowley, Tom Gayner and Richie Whitt.
"I look forward to returning to the office by February and resuming my day-to-day duties."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
