Niche Lloyd's managing agent Marketform has expanded its specialist liability business by entering the personal accident market for the first time.

The leisure-related book will be underwritten by Marketform Syndicate 2468 and will focus on direct and facultative business in the UK, Europe and other jurisdictions where the syndicate currently underwrites business.

Karen Sinden, managing director of Marketform Managing Agency, said: "The forecast premium income from this class of business for 2006 is £4m increasing to £6.5m in 2007. Marketform has received approval from Lloyd's to proceed with the proposed business and the syndicate will be underwriting from June 2006."

The team will be headed up by Paul Newson and will cover approximately 50% general and 50% leisure-related personal accident business.
