Marsh UK has seen an explosion in graduates applying for jobs in the tough economic conditions.

Marsh UK chief executive Martin South revealed today that the megabroker had seen 2,700 applicants apply for work this year, up from 1,100 in 2010.

In the end, Marsh took on just 15 graduates for the roles.

South, speaking at Marsh’s 4th Annual Client Conference, said: “There is a huge demand from really bright qualified people who want to join our sector.”
