Association wants to fill position by end of June

The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) has formally begun a search its first full-time managing director.

The MGAA’s board plans to select a shortlist from the applications by the middle of June and announce the appointment by the end of the same month.

The new managing director will work with the MGAA board and chairman Reg Brown (pictured). His or her main responsibilities will be to drive the association’s strategy, execute its business plans and attract a wide range of MGA members from across the UK.

The managing director will also be tasked with implementing policies for the management and operation of the Association, developing its profile and representing the UK MGA sector.

Brown said: “With the growing scale and profile of the MGAA the time is right to appoint our first full time managing director. This will be a pivotal role as we increase the association’s activities to promote the importance of this sector of the UK insurance industry and ensure its regulation is fair.”

The MGAA, which launched in September 2011, has 64 full members, 24 insurer members and 26 supplier members. The membership represents combined gross written premium of more than £2.5bn.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
