Accident management company United Assessors has launched a national register of mobile homes designed to slash insurance claims.

As part of the Static and Mobile Property Surveys STAMPS an electronic transponder will be fitted on the mobile home to aid identification.

A company spokesman said: "Considering the regularity of insurance claims on mobile homes and the opportunity for fraud, we are sure that the benefits of STAMPS will be self-evident."

The full survey will include details of accommodation, valuation of home, condition of home, full details of serial numbers make and model and the fitting of the security transponder.

A national network of engineers working through a bespoke CaseFlow software system will conduct the survey.
