Welsh intermediary Moorhouse has acquired Shakespeare Underwriting from Andrew Booth, sole owner of the Bentley Group, for an undisclosed sum.

Shakespeare, which lost around £40,000 from its dealings with Arab German Insurance, was placed into administration last month.

A spokesman for Tenon recovery, the administrators of Shakespeare, said: “We are delighted to have found a buyer in the trade so quickly. There is a strong match between the two companies.”

Shakespeare has agency agreements with a number of underwriters to distribute motor cycle, private car, household, commercial vehicle and let property cover.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
