Motor rates are static, according to three new surveys of the market. The AA, Consumer Intelligence and Datamonitor all reported near static price changes over the last few months with little movement predicted in the near future.

The AA recorded a rise of just £2 in the average premium of £756 over the last quarter; Consumer Intelligence recorded a 0.5% fall over the last six months and Datamonitor recorded rates as static.

Consumer Intelligence also reported a spread of rate changes geographically from an increase of 0.59% in Yorkshire and the North East to a decrease of 1.28% in the South East.

None of the three commentators predicted any dramatic changes in the short term.
