Director of underwriting Andreas Loucaides promoted to top role

Jubilee Managing Agency has appointed Andreas Loucaides, the company's director of underwriting, as its new chief executive.

He takes over from Theodore Agnew, who is stepping down from the role but will remain as deputy chairman and a non-executive director of Jubilee. Norman Topche, formerly director of reinsurance, will become director of underwriting. All the changes take effect immediately.

Both Loucaides and Topche joined the company in October last year as part of Jubilee's strategy to diversify its product portfolio and extend the company's current market positions by identifying opportunities for additional revenue streams. In January, the company announced the first of its new business lines, with the launch of a global property account.

Theodore Agnew, deputy chairman of Jubilee Managing Agency, said: "This is the next chapter in our company's developing story. Andreas and Norman have the remit to extend the scale and capabilities of the business into new and profitable areas."

Loucaides added: "We have started the drive for a broader portfolio of business and will continue to explore new areas where we feel we can bring our existing skills and expertise to bear, while at the same time strengthening our infrastructure."

He continued: "Since joining the business it has become clear that the breadth of the product offerings and servicing capabilities within the Jubilee group provide great potential for cross-selling and profitable expansion. We have already seen this in action and it is my aim to develop this further.

"With the support of our board and the management team, we are moving towards a stronger and more unified approach to our business. We have all the fundamentals in place to strengthen our London market presence in both new and existing areas."
