The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has reopened its investigation into the ABI's general terms of agreement (GTA) with credit hire companies.
The move follows criticism from the Competition Appeal Tribunal, which said that the OFT was wrong not to fight an appeal by the ABI against an earlier OFT ruling. The OFT had found that the GTA was anti-competitive. An OFT spokeswoman said it would "look closely" at the issues raised by the tribunal.
