It services company Rebus is building a virtual private network called Rebus Exchange, targeted at London-based insurance companies. It is expected to be operational by the end of January.

The integrated telecoms and knowledge management service will be delivered via Colt's fibre optic network and uses Cisco Systems routers to interconnect users and services.

Future services will include access to a new managed repository service built using the Rebus IS Worldview enterprise information portal and Microsoft and Hewlett Packard technologies.

“We expect the offer to be of particular interest to our customers, and others in the London insurance market, where Rebus IS has nearly 100 market participants,” said Gary Lowrey, Rebus IS's sales and marketing director.
