Lloyd's managing agency, PXRE, is poised for further growth in introducing corporate and captive syndicates into the market after strengthening its management team.
The agency, which manages £249 million of capacity at Lloyd's has appointed five new managers who have considerable experience in the Lloyd's and London insurance markets.
Accountant Mike Metcalfe joins PXRE as client operations manager from Amlin where he was accounting project manager.
Geddes Primus, who formerly worked at the Whittington group, becomes IT head. Karen Cordier from Lloyd's regulatory division is PXRE deputy compliance officer. Jagdis Barber is syndicate accountant and also joins from Amlin. Trevor Marsh, an experienced administrator at Whittington Capital Management, becomes assistant operations manager.
Paul Archard, managing director of PXRE, said the appointments mark another step in the company's development.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
