Fortis offers MNW cover

Fortis has launched a home insurance product for the mid net worth market (MNW). House Guard Prestige, which will be sold through intermediaries, has a claims limit of £150,000 for contents. This compares with £80,000 for the insurer’s standard product. It also has a £1m claims limit for buildings, versus £500,000 for standard cover, and will automatically offer £5,000 for worldwide cover for personal belongings, money, credit cards and pedal cycles.

Broker becomes chartered

Leeds-based Marshall Wooldridge Insurance Brokers has been awarded Chartered Insurance Broker status by the CII. Fewer than 50 firms have been awarded chartered status to date.
