Consultancy Alpha FMC has appointed Jon Newman as a director for its UK insurance consulting team, a statement released today (25 July 2023) said.
Newman will be responsible for leading the build of the firm’s insurance regulatory risk and compliance proposition, with a particular focus on Consumer Duty.
The regulation, which comes into force from 31 July 2023, requires firms to ensure and evidence positive customer outcomes around four metrics – products and services, fair value, consumer understanding and consumer support.
Alpha said the expansion of the insurance consulting business with the new hire reflected its “continued growth and ambition”.

Experience
Newman has joined the firm from EY, where he was a partner in its UK financial services consulting business.

He focused on supporting clients in the areas of regulatory risk and remediation, primarily on retail investments and pensions.
McNulty said Newman’s ”extensive experience and deep knowledge of UK regulation are invaluable assets that will significantly strengthen our capabilities in serving our clients”.
