He has also worked at Marsh as its UK placement strategy director

The former director of international brokers at Aviva – Graeme MacMillan has been appointed as Ardonagh Group’s chief executive of product and distribution management within Ardonagh Portfolio Solutions (APS).

The newly created role will see MacMillan will oversee various functions across broker and carrier engagement and product design on behalf of the entire Group portfolio which sits at £3bn premium.

He has been at Aviva since October 2017 and prior to this, he was UK placement strategy director and chief executive of the UK markets division at Marsh.

Commenting on this appointment, David Ross, chief executive of The Ardonagh Group said: “We have spent much of 2019 revamping our placement strategy, having invested heavily across the Group to consolidate systems and enhance data capture capability.”

It is expected that MacMillan will take up his new position in 2020.

The news coincides with Ardonagh Group revealing its financial results.

“Paul Dilley and the APS team, including Steve Dando who joined us from Marsh earlier in the year, have made great strides in working with our carrier partners across multiple products and jurisdictions,” Ross continued.

He added that the arrival of MacMillan is a key step in accelerating Ardonagh Group’s strategy and further signals its intent to embed a focus on data across the entirety of operations.

Ross said he is delighted that Macmillan has chosen to join Ardonagh Group as it moves into the next phase of delivery.
