’Capacity provider confidence in the Aurora model will soon allow the deployment of limits never before seen online,’ says cofounder

Aurora has revealed that it is looking to expand its distribution network as part of plans to become a “one-stop shop” for brokers.

A statement released yesterday (17 January 2024) said the managing general agent (MGA) wanted to expands access to its online platform to the wider broking community.

To help with this, the firm has appointed Tom Willmore as its new regional account executive – a role that will also see him focus on growing out the firm’s broker relationships.

He will also help develop Aurora’s professional indemnity proposition under plans to become a “one-stop shop for brokers”.

“I was blown away by the Aurora Roadmap and capabilities of the algorithmic underwriting model,” Willmore said.

”Talking to our various brokers, capacity providers and data partners that have already engaged with Aurora, it’s clear that they all feel the same.

”We’re offering real solutions to the challenges facing our brokers and their clients in a fast-changing world. The potential is endless with Aurora, so I’m really looking forward to engaging with my broking network again.”

Experience

Wilmore will bring a background in broking and underwriting to the role from his previous positions at Pib Group and Jelf.

He will join from Kingsbridge Group, where he was the senior development underwriting and account executive.

Aurora cofounder and chief executive Jan-Vincent Finn said that Willmore was ”perfectly positioned to continue to evaluate Aurora’s proposition”.

”Capacity provider confidence in the Aurora model will soon allow the deployment of limits never before seen online, whilst brokers can utilise our data-driven insights to offer superior advice and mitigate underinsurance, augmenting the service they provide their client base,” Finn added.

”We’re entering an exciting time as a team and I’m pleased to have Tom on board to support our broker ambitions.”
