’I’m delighted we’ve been able to recruit from within the business,’ says managing director

Aviva has announced two new promotions within its private clients business.

Among the moves is Tom French, previously head of private client sales, being promoted to the expanded role of head of commercial and distribution.

This will see him take responsibility for leading new business underwriting, sales and distribution and development and marketing teams within Aviva Private Clients.

Meanwhile, Paul Glennerster has been appointed head of underwriting, with him being responsible for leading underwriting management, as well as the development of the existing product suite and underwriting oversight.

He takes on the role after previously serving as technical underwriting lead.

‘Fantastic talent’

The confirmation of these roles completes the restructuring of the Aviva Private Clients senior leadership team.

Ann Owen, managing director at Aviva Private Clients, said: “We have fantastic talent across Aviva Private Clients and these appointments demonstrate the expertise and bench strength we have within the teams.

”Appointing French and Glennerster to these expanded roles is a reflection of this talent and I’m delighted we’ve been able to recruit from within the business.

“We have ambitious growth plans for Aviva Private Clients and the recently announced expansion into Lloyd’s allows us to access important new markets. We are now able to offer a full suite of products across the high net worth market, from the relaunch of SmartHome to clients with property assets in overseas markets, such as Switzerland and Monaco.”
