’We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead, which will benefit both our customers and our dedicated team,’ says director

Brown and Brown has acquired Kenilworth-based Irvine Commercial Insurance Brokers.

Irvine specialises in insurance broking services for local SMEs and offers motor fleet, commercial combined, combined liability and contractors all risks products.

It was founded in the early 2000s by directors John Townsley and Matthew Finch. Both will continue to operate from their current location and report to James Birrell, regional managing director at Brown and Brown Europe.

Finch said: “Joining the Brown and Brown team marks a significant milestone for our company.

“We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead, which will benefit both our customers and our dedicated team.”

Regional expansion

The acquisition has received regulatory approval and the consideration for the deal is undisclosed.

Brown and Brown said it had purchased the broker to expand its presence in the Midlands.

Birrell said: “Its specialisation and strong customer relationships align perfectly with our values.

“This acquisition strengthens our presence in the Midlands and reinforces our commitment to serving the insurance needs of SMEs in the region.”
