’We look forward to supporting them as they continue to do what they do best,’ says retail chief executive
Brown and Brown Europe has agreed to acquire private client and bloodstock broker Weatherbys Hamilton.
Founded in 2012, Weatherbys Hamilton is known for providing specialist insurance cover to owners, breeders, trainers and their horses.
The firm operates from seven locations across the UK, including Wellingborough, London, Edinburgh, Penrith, Horsham, Swindon and Newmarket.
Post acquisition, all members of the Weatherbys Hamilton team will remain with the business, continuing to operate from their existing locations and trading under the existing name.
Carolyn Callan, chief executive for retail at Brown and Brown Europe, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Weatherbys Hamilton to Brown and Brown. It was clear from the beginning that there was true cultural alignment between the two businesses.
“They bring strong sector specialisation, a fantastic team and a reputation built on trust and service.
“We look forward to supporting them as they continue to do what they do best.”
‘Strong relationship’
Weatherbys Hamilton was founded as a joint venture between Weatherbys Bank, owned by the Weatherbys family and executive chairman Charles Hamilton.
