Gallagher Bassett acquires marine law firm

Gallagher Bassett has acquired marine law firm Winter and Company Solicitors.

Based in London, the law firm has expertise in charterparty and shipping contract disputes.

Its team is currently led by co-founder Glenn Winter, who will join Gallagher Bassett under the direction of Manan Sagar, chief executive at Gallagher Bassett Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Combined practice

Following Gallagher Bassett’s acquisition of specialty marine law firm Mays Brown in May 2026, it is intended that both acquired practices will be brought together to form a combined marine legal practice, subject to all necessary regulatory approvals.
