Phil Evans, commercial director at GoShorty, recaps the year as he explains why the company is contending for Independent Broker of the Year
What made you enter the Independent Broker of the Year category?
Across the UK there are lots of small and independent brokers serving niches, whether that be local communities, narrow parts of the market or really specialist subjects.
We’re different in that we’re small and independent, yet have a genuinely mass market product that is already been used by hundreds of thousands of people across the UK. We wanted to shout about that within the industry!
GoShorty has an amazing story of rapid growth and innovation that we’re very proud of and we’re very excited to share this with our industry peers via this award entry.
What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
All of the award entrants will have brilliant businesses, innovative products and great commercial models, however our entry demonstrates that GoShorty has so much more.
In just three years, we’ve grown a business from launch to enabling hundreds of thousands of people a year to get to where they need to be, quickly, affordably and legally.
Our data-led innovation is second to none and our revolutionary approach means that our insurer partners are also able to see significant benefit from us, whereas with others in our segment – or indeed broader motor lines – there’s no such possibility.
What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning this award would help to validate all of the hard work that we’ve put into to getting GoShorty to this point.
Our customers already tell us that we’ve got a great product that they rely on – just see our market-leading Trustpilot rating – and adding industry peers’ validation to that via this award would be the icing on the cake.
We’re in an exciting period of growth and becoming Independent Broker of the Year would be an incredible achievement for such a new business.
