Joe Fay, claims manager at C&C Insurance Brokers, explains his firm’s entry to the Customer Champion of the Year – Broker category
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the category?
We’ve always believed that great customer service is about people, relationships and being there when clients need us most. But we also recognise that technology can help us do an even better job.

Our new claims analysis platform is a great example. We’ve developed something that turns thousands of claims into genuinely useful information, helping clients understand their risks and potentially prevent future losses.
We entered because we’re proud of what our teams have achieved and because we believe innovation should bring brokers and their clients closer together, not put more distance between them.
2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
What makes our approach different is what happens after the technology has done its job.
Our bespoke platform analyses claims data, identifies trends and highlights opportunities to reduce risk. But rather than simply generating reports, our experienced people sit down with clients and work out what that information actually means for their businesses.
We carried out over 640 client claims reviews during 2025, turning data into meaningful conversations and practical advice.
Combine that with a 25-strong in-house claims team and 97.4% client retention and we think we’ve demonstrated that technology and genuinely personal service make a pretty powerful combination.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
It would be a fantastic endorsement of something we’ve believed in for over 50 years. That looking after clients properly is the most important thing we do.
We’re incredibly proud of the technology we’ve developed, but even prouder of the people who use it to make a difference every day. Winning would recognise their commitment, expertise and willingness to embrace new ideas without losing the personal touch that defines C&C.
And if it encourages other brokers to see technology as a way of strengthening client relationships, rather than replacing them, that would be a pretty good result too.
