The deal forms part of Kingfisher’s strategy to grow both organically and through acquisition

Kingfisher Insurance has acquired Reis Motorsport as it looks to enhance its offering of motorsport insurance products, according to a statement released yesterday (6 June 2023).

Nottingham-based Reis has been operating in the motorsport market for over 15 years, offering flexible policies to a range of competitors and teams competing in GP2, Formula E, Stage Rallying, Le Mans and GT series.

Kingfisher said purchasing the specialist broker complemented its motorsport offering, which is focused on meeting the needs of motorsport teams, competitors, event organisers and enthusiasts.

Jacquie Boast, chief executive of Kingfisher, said:We are delighted to welcome the clients and employees of Reis Motorsport to the Kingfisher family.

“With this acquisition, we can offer a wider choice of motorsport insurance products to the market.

“The Reis name is well-known for its expertise in the industry, but also for its genuine passion for the sport and makes it an important addition to our group.”

Future plans

The deal forms part of Kingfisher’s strategy to grow both organically and through acquisition of businesses delivering specialist products to niche markets.

“The acquisition aligns with our strategy to become the leading specialist insurance provider in the UK and the Reis staff add further depth and experience to our existing expert teams in other niche sectors,” Boast added.

Meanwhile, Reis said it was aiming to increase its market presence and client base with Kingfisher’s support.

Mary Singleton, senior operations manager at Reis, said: “We are excited to be joining the Kingfisher team and are looking forward to continuing to deliver excellent products and service to our clients.

“Motorsport insurance can be complex with many variables to consider, so it’s fantastic to be part of an organisation that is dedicated to, and truly understands, specialist insurance.”
