Markel has appointed Mark Lowther as its new head of technology in the UK.
In his new role, Lowther will be responsible for expanding Markel’s presence in the technology insurance market and enhancing the insurer’s underwriting expertise and sales capabilities nationwide.
“I’m excited to take on this new challenge and build upon Markel’s strong foundations in the technology space,” said Lowther.
“Having been heavily involved in our recent product refresh to create one of the most comprehensive tech offerings in the UK, I look forward to driving innovation and delivering insurance solutions that support this thriving sector.”

Lowther takes on the role after more than 19 years at Markel.

He previously oversaw financial lines sales in the UK, while he has also developed broad relationships with brokers nationwide.
In his new role, he will report directly to Mark Plews, director of UK underwriting.
