’Stepping into the role of managing director is a privilege,’ says appointee

Touchstone Underwriting has appointed Mike Patston as its new managing director, with predecessor Alan Roe having decided to retire.

Roe joined the MGA, which is a subsidiary of Seventeen Group, in 2010 and has held the role of managing director for the last 15 years.

He said he was “very proud” to have grown the firm “into the diverse and specialist MGA it is today”.

“I would like to thank everyone at Touchstone for their hard work and wish them the very best for the future,” Roe continued.

Seventeen Group chief executive Paul Anscombe added: “I would like to thank him for his incredible career with us at Touchstone.

“He joined at a very early stage of our formation and has helped build an MGA we are truly proud of.”

Successor

Successor Patston joined Touchstone in 2015 and has been deputy managing director since 1 January 2024.

Anscombe said Patston was Roe’s “chosen successor for the business and very much the choice of Seventeen Group, bringing continuity, energy and ambition to the role”.

“Touchstone has extensive growth plans for its next chapter and we look forward to Patston leading the team,” he added.

Patston added: “Stepping into the role of managing director at Touchstone is a privilege.

“I want to thank Roe sincerely for his contributions to our success and for paving the way forward.

“Looking ahead, our goal is simple – to be the go-to MGA for both standard and niche insurance products.”
