‘Together we’ll be able to build upon our success to date and ensure we’re the go-to and best loved cycling insurance brand in the UK,’ says chief executive
Specialist personal lines insurance provider Niche Box Group has acquired bicycle and e-bike insurance brand Cycler.
Cycler was launched in 2021 and is known for its specialist cover designed for cyclists whose equipment often falls outside the scope of standard policies.
Through the deal, Niche Box will help Cycler scale and embed its products within other insurance propositions. Cover will also be available as a standalone product.
Ben Trigg, chief operations officer at Niche Box, said the acquisition strongly fits the group’s data-led approach to niche insurance.
“We’re very excited to welcome Cycler into the Niche Box family,” Trigg said.
“We’ve got big plans to help continue to grow the Cycler brand and would welcome conversations with insurers, brokers, retailers and manufacturers looking to enhance their cycling insurance offering.”
‘New era’

According to Statista figures published in March 2024, 1 in 10 new bike purchases in the UK are now e-bikes – many of which can cost several thousand pounds.
Cycler founder Alan Hickman will continue to lead the development of the brand as part of the acquisition.
Hickman added: “It’s really exciting to be able to usher in a new era for Cycler alongside our friends at Niche Box.
”Both brands have gone from strength to strength and together we can continue to grow and become the best loved cycling insurance brand in the UK.”
