The new appointee will ’bring extensive experience across the spectrum of cargo risks’, says departmental head

Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has snapped up former Munich Re senior cargo underwriter Rob Partridge as part of plans to grow its global marine footprint.

A statement released today (3 July 2023) said Partridge will join TMK as a cargo underwriter in its marine division.

He will be responsible for the oversight and growth of TMK’s cargo portfolio in London and report to Richard Hooks, departmental head of marine and energy.

“For some time, TMK has intended to broaden its marine proposition and, with the portfolio now at a sufficiently mature stage, Rob’s joining will be enormously helpful in achieving that ambition,” Hooks said.

“[He will] bring extensive experience across the spectrum of cargo risks.”

Experience

Partridge brings more than 11 years of cargo underwriting experience to TMK.

He will join from Munich Re, where he held a number of positions, such as marine underwriting assistant, before working his way up to senior cargo underwriter.

Partridge’s appointment at TMK followed that of Timothy Wills as marine underwriter at TMK’s Lloyd’s Asia syndicate in Singapore last year.

“He will work in close collaboration with Tim in Singapore and we are extremely pleased to have secured someone of his stature for this important role,” Hooks said.

“I look forward to working with him in the coming months to bring a truly global offering to the market.”
