NFU Mutual will make 150 redundancies as part of a move to consolidate its first notification of loss (FNOL) teams.

The agricultural insurer said the cuts would be made over three years. It follows a review of its FNOL operating strategy.

NFU’s proposals include merging its FNOL teams in Bristol and Wellingborough into its existing Glasgow team.

The insurer said it was introducing an online image and workflow solution to improve its claims process.

In a statement, the insurer said: “Regrettably we expect to reduce 150 roles over the next three years as a result of the move away from a paper-dependent process, and our proposal to consolidate teams.

“We are working with those who could be affected to explore options for the future, including relocation or redeployment, in order to limit the potential need for redundancies.”
