Chris Jones joins the Lloyd's broker's reinsurance division

Newman Martin and Buchan Limited ('NMB'), the independent Lloyd's insurance and reinsurance broker, has recruited Chris Jones ACII to join its reinsurance division.

Jones has 25 years' experience in the London reinsurance market, having worked in both the underwriting and broking sectors. He has held the position of Cargo and Specie Underwriter in Lloyd's and has held senior positions in the broking sector including with Guy Carpenter's GC Fac subsidiary.

At NMB, Jones will specialise in facultative reinsurance with an emphasis on marine classes.

Martin Stephenson, managing director of NMB's Reinsurance Division, said: "Chris brings a lot of experience to NMB and we are very pleased to have him as part of the team. In particular, his expertise in cargo and specie and other marine classes will be a valuable contribution to our developing facultative capability."

Jones said he is very pleased to be joining NMB, adding: "NMB has a great reputation and is widely recognised for its expertise in marine insurance. It is therefore particularly well placed to offer specialist marine facultative reinsurance services, benefiting from its experience in both the direct and reinsurance marine markets. I am looking forward to working with the rest of the team and to assist in further developing the account."
