No evidence to support ban. PM worked in commercial TV

The government will ignore Lord Young’s recommendation to end the £40m advertising by claims management companies (CMCs) because there is no case to do so and David Cameron worked in commercial TV, the Guardian reports.

A Freedom of Information Act claim shows that the Legal Services Board (LSB) found the evidence does not provide a case to ban. Four other reports since May claim referral fees do not harm consumers, but improve access to justice by informing people of their rights.
