Norwich Union Healthcare (NUHC) is working with leading cancer charity Cancerlink to improve the way claims from policyholders with cancer are handled.
Cancerlink is training an eight-strong oncology team, lead by an experienced specialist cancer nurse, that will be fully operational by the middle of the year.
When an NUHC policyholder is diagnosed with cancer they will be directed to the oncology team, and their claims process will be dealt with by one or two dedicated staff.
The claimant will also be able to speak to one of the team members through a direct number.
NUHC policyholders will also be able to use the charity's free phone support link, online support services and a range of self-help organisations.
