Norwich Union (NU) will integrate RAC's general insurance arm into its own operations as part of the ongoing restructure following the purchase of RAC.

NU has appointed Scott Eagan as director of RAC insurance operations. Eagan has worked in NU's corporate insurance division for the past 10 years.

An NU spokeswoman said the company was currently undertaking an internal review of RAC general insurance to determine how it would best operate within the existing company.

In May, NU told Insurance Times the restructure and overlapping of services would inevitably lead to job losses.

Meanwhile, it has divided RAC's non-insurance business into four divisions. These are: RAC services, RAC rescue, RAC manufacturer supply services and RAC vehicle leasing.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
